The seedpod series begins as my digital photography of flowers past their prime... but on their way to begining the next generation. The images are printed with archival inks on acid-free watercolor and tissue papers that are layered with encaustic wax and beeswax on cradled wood boards. Sometimes I add oil details, sometimes I scrape and gouge the encaustic, sometimes I transfer text. | |
